Larz Anderson Auto Museum

Who else is excited that spring is FINALLY here?! One of my favorite places to visit and take the Littles this time of year is Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, Massachusetts. This museum has been in operation for over 85 years, is known for having “America’s Oldest Car Collection” and is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Set on 64 acres of land and just ten minutes outside of Boston, Larz Anderson boasts some great events throughout the year they are best known for their Sunday Lawn Event.  Every Sunday from May 18th until October 26th, with the exception of holiday weekends,  there is a different theme of car each weekend.

I recently brought two Littles ages twelve and seven to explore here.  They LOVED it.  The carriage house has two levels with all kinds of memorabilia.  The seven year old Little loved finding the cars that looked like the ones from her favorite movie, “CARS”.  The twelve year Little loved reading all about the old cars and looking at the pictures on display.  We made a whole day out of our trip there.  We packed a lunch, blankets, a soccer ball and our baseball gloves.  The 64 acres of grounds is beautiful and the view into Boston is the Littles favorite part.
